About

This blog is run by two people – let’s call them Poster and Imposter, shall we?

Coming to a different country to start a new life is probably the most difficult transition anyone has to make. Its a whole new culture, new system of bureaucracy and…well, the list can be rather long. New arrivals can struggle. Poster and Imposter were not the first to make this transition several years ago and they just as certainly would not be the last.

What does that have to do with a blog, for cryin’ out loud?

A very valid question indeed. You see, for a “fresh off the boat” person, navigating the various aspects of life in this country, especially in the beginning, can be daunting. Poster and Imposter wished Someone was there to help and guide them through the process.

This blog will attempt to be that Someone for others that follow.

In these posts and pages, you will (hopefully) find useful information, especially if you are a foreign / international medical graduate coming to USA for residency training. What we learned by stumbling through, hopefully some will learn just by reading about it in the comfort of their chair. Perhaps, in the comfort of their chair, in their home, in their native country as they prepare to make that journey into the land of dreams called USA!

And of course, there will be the more-than-just-occasional goofiness and peculiar musings!

Welcome!
